The City of Rostock (Hanse- und Universitätsstadt Rostock) not only has over 800 years of history, but is also an extremely sport-loving city with many former world champions and Olympic champions. The Office for Sport, Clubs and Volunteering is responsible for the development, needs planning and promotion of Rostock's sports programme and its sports facilities, as well as for recognising voluntary work. Those responsible place great emphasis on promoting current topics such as inclusion, sustainability and the development of civil society.
